We're looking for students with any level of acting experience to take on voice acting roles in productions starting next term.
Getting to know the rest of your team (other actors, directors, possibly the writer) is an important first step in the working relationship.
Then you'll be encouraged to study the script and have some informal run-throughs with the other actors and director.
The final stage will be in the recording studio, where you turn the script into a quality recording alongside the rest of the team.
We aim to produce a diverse range of productions: drama, comedy, poetry, and informational recordings, from new writing as well as licensed work.
If you've got ideas, know someone who's written something, or you have something you wrote that you'd like to act in, we'd be keen to help out - though it's not required!
It's relatively simple to produce a quality recording if you have the right equipment and software. As it's not live, you have the chance to perfect your performance for the final recording and create a better impression of your full potential.
The voice is one of the most important aspects of any type of acting. Working solely with the audio medium will give you a chance to give special attention to this aspect of your performance, and because of the recorded nature, you can get plenty of feedback!
Your production will be showcased on our web site where visitors can listen for free (or syndicate to iTunes etc by podcast). We're currently developing the site for our launch, and will be instigating a large publicity campaign at the start of next year.
Due to the nature of the medium and the production process, voice acting involves much less time and hassle than stage acting. We expect most shows to have a turnaround time of a few weeks from forming cast and team to a polished, professional production.
